The Oral Health Specialist Library

The Oral Health Specialist Library (http://www.library.nhs.uk/oralhealth/) presents an Annual Evidence Update, bringing together the latest systematic reviews and evidence-based guidelines. It's timed to coincide with the beginning of National Smile Month 18 May - 17 June). For the Update the Library has identified and critically appraised all oral health systematic reviews published during 2007. In addition, the OHSL has worked with the National Library of Guidelines (http://www.library.nhs.uk/guidelinesFinder/) to identify the latest guidelines meeting their inclusion criteria. The AEU provides an editorial from the Library's Clinical Lead, the 2007 reviews and guidelines (grouped by topic in Oral Disorders and Specialist Dentistry) and the evidence-based methods used to produce our update. This is one of three major evidence presentations the Oral Health Library has planned for 2008. In September, the Library will be launching a new Special Care Dentistry section and in November, we will present an annual evidence update on Oral Cancer to coincide with Mouth Cancer Awareness Week.
