TARGET GROUP
Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH) researchers, students or any staff members who would benefit from further support in dealing with statistics. Statistical resources and programs supported include Microsoft Excel and SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences).
PRE-REQUISITES
Some basic computer skills including basic Microsoft Excel skills.
PREPARATION
Those attending the clinic must come prepared to the session with a statistical problem (or scenario). Where possible an outline of the problem should be submitted in advance of attendance at the clinic (provision for submitting and outline of your question has been made through the online booking facility). This would be useful in allowing those facilitating the clinic to research problems in advance, but not essential.
OUTCOMES
On attendance at the clinic it is anticipated that a series of necessary actions will be identified and supported to achieve the desired outcome for the attendee with the statistical problem. When it is not possible to solve statistics problems directly within the clinic, an action plan will be drawn up jointly between the facilitator and the attendee to establish a direction of travel towards a solution.
Some important notes: Sessions are delivered on a one-to-one basis due to software licensingarrangements. To book your place please complete the online booking form on the ILS Training pages.
Further dissemination: Please pass this information on to any colleagues within the Trust to whom it may be of interest.
